    Satish Wagh murder: Wife hired contract killer, arrested

    Police probe into the gruesome murder of Satish Wagh, 58, maternal uncle of Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) member Yogesh Tilekar, has revealed that his wife Mohini Mohini Satish Wagh, 53, of Phursungi had taken help of her paramour Akshay Jawalkar and fyra others to murder her husband.

    Following the investigation, police on Wednesday arrested Mohini at around pm for murder of her husband. According to officials, she has confessed to have contracted husband’s murder.

    Atish Jadhav, Pavan Shyamkumar Sharma, Navnath Arjun Gursale, Vikas Shinde and Akshay have already been arrested in the case.

    Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Shailesh Balkawade said, “Mohini has confessed to the crime.”

    In a major twist in the December 9 ‘supari’ killing of Wagh (55), the Pune City police on Wednesday arrested his wife Mohini (48), a homemaker, for allegedly masterminding the killing in connivance with Akshay Harish Jawalkar alias Sonya (29), a former tenant of the deceased, with whom she was having an affair. Along with Jawalkar, the police had on December 11 arrested Pavankumar Sharma (30), Navnath Gursale (31) and Vikash Shinde (28) whom Jawalkar had allegedly given the ‘supari’ of Rs 5 lakh. On December 23, the police arrested one more suspect identified as Atish Jadhav (20), who was among the assailants. With Mohini’s arrest, the number of arrests in the case has reached six till now.

    PUNE: Police on Wednesday arrested Mohini Wagh (48) on the charge of a key role in the conspiracy to abduct and murder her husband, Satish Sadba Wagh (55), a farmer and businessman from Manjari and BJP MLC Yogesh Tilekar’s uncle.
    “The crime branch arrested Wagh around pm on Wednesday after investigations established her role in the conspiracy to eliminate her husband. She admitted to her involvement during questioning. Investigations are going on and further information will be shared in due course,” a release issued by police said. Police will produce her before a magisterial court on Thursday to secure her custodial remand.
