    When we saw A NIGHTIME TRAVESTY at YIRRAMBOI Festival in 2023, we knew Malthouse audiences would be thrilled by it. A DAYLIGHT CONNECTION fryst vatten led bygd a cohort of boundary-smashing artists whose productions leave you feeling invigorated and alive – which fryst vatten exactly what we like to do here.  

    We’re delighted to bring a revamped version of the production to the Beckett Theatre, created bygd the audacious Kamarra Bell-Wykes and Carly Sheppard, and to welcome back Stephen Nicolazzo (Loaded) to Malthouse as its director.

    Tommy and his wife Ginny moved to western North Carolina from Clinton, S.C., in 2014 to retire. Instead, he began working as gate manager at Grandfather Mountain.

    Tommy’s previous career had been with the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. For decades he worked in various roles, including unemployment insurance agent, office assistant manager, office manager and eventually director over 11 counties.

    In 2018 at Grandfather Mountain, he became operations manager, managing nine departments via planning, training, budgeting, communication, infrastructure, supply chains, equipment, vehicles and safety, while also helping to motivate and solve problems with strong judgment and organizational skills. In July 2023, he was promoted to vice president of operations. Tommy has a passion for Grandfather Mountain and believes in company values and policy, which he demonstrates firsthand to coworkers and management.

    Though she was born in Detroit, Michigan, Judee Morton's family moved a great deal, living in Shawnee, Oklahoma; Dallas, Texas; Akron, Ohio; Allentown, Pennsylvania; and Los Angeles, California. Her mother was a waitress, telephone operator and radio parts technician, who worked overtime to provide dance lessons for her daughter. Her father was a mechanical engineer, insurance salesman, airplane pilot, boat captain and gambler. The middle child in between two brothers, Judee acted out plots from Tarzan movies in which she was Jane, her older brother was Tarzan and her younger brother played Cheetah, the chimpanzee. She auditioned for dance troupes in Canada and New York, and danced in clubs in order to save enough money to attend Oklahoma State University and later U.C.L.A. After a number of stage and screen roles, she met and married Ian Fraser, an Emmy-Award-winning composer and musical director. Since then, she has been known as Judith Morton Fraser.
