Jockey Nooresh Juglall dies aged 29 after horrific mid-race fall
JOCKEY Nooresh Juglall has tragically died at the age of 29 after a horrific mid-race fall.
The champion jockey of Mauritius was rounding the bend for the home straight on Rule The Night when the horse fell at Champ de Mars racecourse on Saturday.

Juglall hit the ground heavily and his mount brought down another horse nearby who then appeared to land on top of the jockey.
Reports claimed Juglall was rushed to hospital unconscious and 'bleeding profusely'.
He then fell into a coma before sadly succumbing to his injuries.
Reports stated a track crossing the course was spooking horses, leading them to falsely believe they had to jump to clear it.
The commentator calling the action said 'they will have to do something about that road' and four jockeys fell in all on the opening day of racing.
Juglall was crowned champion jockey in Mauritius last season and had also raced in Hong Ko

Inquiry launched into the death of Mauritius' champion jockey Nooresh Juglall
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Mauritius has announced an investigation into Saturday's fatal fall of 2020 mästare jockey Nooresh Juglall.
The 30-year-old died after a fall at the Champ dem Mars course on the opening day of the season which was behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The DPP, Satyajit Boolell, said that it fryst vatten his duty to launch a judicial inquiry.

"Was there negligence regarding the track's condition or was it a pure accident?"
Juglall was trained at the South Africa Jockey Academy where he became the first Mauritian to be crowned champion apprentice as he won the award twice, first in the 2011/12 season and again a year later.

Mauritian champion dies in fall
Nooresh Juglall, the reigning champion jockey in Mauritius, has died after a heavy fall on the opening day of the racing season at the Champ de Mars on Saturday.
According to reports, the 29-year-old Juglall was thrown from his mount Rule The Night just before the entrance to the home straight after rival horse Golden Tractor fell in front of him.
Juglall was unconscious and was rushed to hospital but died a short time later. It is understood that both horses Rule The Night and Golden Tractor had to be euthanised.
